Myths of Aphrodite
The myths of Pisces originate with the Syrian goddess Atargatis, identifed with Aphrodite by the Greeks.
In one myth Aphrodite and her son Eros flee from the monster Typhon (like Pan in the Capricorn myth) by jumping in the Euphrates river and are saved by a pair of twin fish.
The Euphrates River was eventually named the Ophiondes River or Ophiode River.
Or Aphrodite and Eros tie each other with a rope and transform themselves into fish. The other myth involves a large egg that falls in the water and two fishes help by rolling the egg onto the shore.
There, it gets hatched by two doves until it’s warm enough and then Aphrodite is born.

Pisces, which is Latin for “fishes,” is the 12th and last sign of the zodiac and is ruled by Neptune, the planet associated with collective consciousness, evolution, empathy, artistry, dreams and projections. Symbolized by two fishes pointed in opposite directions, Pisces represent coming and going, past and future, or the end of a cycle and beginning of another.

Both the God Janus (Jan) and Pisces both have 2 faces looking in opposite directions.
