Ladon (God)
Ladon (God) - "The vigilant dragon guards apples that are not his own."
Ladon is the god and dragon-serpent, was a hundred-headed monster that guarded the Garden of the Hesperides. Ladon was the serpent-like dragon that twined and twisted around the tree in the Garden of the Hesperides and guarded the golden apples.

The Hesperides were given the task of tending to the grove, but occasionally picked apples from it themselves. Not trusting them, Hera also placed in the garden an immortal, never-sleeping, hundred-headed dragon named Ladon as an additional safeguard.
In the myth of the Judgement of Paris, it was from the Garden that Eris, Goddess of Discord, obtained the Apple of Discord, which led to the Trojan War.
Ladon, the hundred-headed dragon who guarded the golden apples in the Garden of the Hesperides. He was an eternal sentinel, perpetually vigilant, protecting property that belonged to the goddess Hera, not himself.
The golden apple tree was a wedding gift to Hera from Gaia (Mother Earth).
Hera planted the tree in her divine garden at the westernmost edge of the world, cared for by nymphs called the Hesperides
When Hera discovered the nymphs were stealing the apples, she appointed the sleepless dragon Ladon to coil around the tree and protect it.
The apples were later sought by the hero Heracles during his eleven labors.
The story of Ladon is often used as an allegory for selfless or thankless service. The vigilant dragon is a metaphor for an entity that meticulously guards something it does not possess and from which it receives no benefit.

"Pro vigil observat non sua poma draco" is a latin phrase regarding the story of the Golden Apples of the Hesperides.
Translation
Pro vigil: The vigilant one.
observat: watches, guards.
non sua: not his own.
poma: apples (plural).
draco: dragon.
The complete translation is: "The vigilant dragon guards apples that are not his own."
The proverb refers to the myth of the Hesperides, where the hundred-headed dragon Ladon guards a tree of golden apples in a sacred garden. The tree was a wedding gift from Gaia to the goddess Hera, making the apples Hera's property, not the dragon's.
The moral of the story is about serving a purpose while having no personal ownership of what you are protecting. The phrase can also be applied to a person who is a zealous but ultimately selfless guard of someone else's property or interests.
