The Pillars of Hiero-Clis

The Pillars or Hiero Cles or Cliffs of Hiero (Place)

Gibraltar As A Pillar Began in 400 BC 500 YEAR After the Pillars of Hiero Cles

The first mentions of Gibraltar as a pillar of Hercules appear in ancient Greek and Roman sources, such as the philosopher Plato around 400 BC and Roman writers like Pliny the Elder and Seneca. In these accounts, the Rock of Gibraltar (then known as Mons Calpe) was considered one of the two legendary Pillars of Hercules, along with a mountain on the African side of the Strait of Gibraltar, to mark the edge of the known world.

Hiero or hieron (/ˈhaɪərɒn/; Ancient Greek: ἱερόν, lit. "holy place" or "sacred place") is an ancient Greek shrine, temple, or temple precinct.

In Old Irish literature, cles (plural clis or clessa) refers to a "heroic feat" performed by a warrior.

Cliff comes from the Old English word clif of essentially the same meaning, cognate with Dutch, Low German, and Old Norse klif 'cliff'.[1] These may in turn all be from a Romance loanword into Primitive Germanic that has its origins in the Latin forms clivus / clevus ("slope" or "hillside").  "Clevus" becomes "Cles" and "Clivus" becomes "Clis".

Ktaba d'ellat koll 'ellan

A medieval Syriac encyclopedia, Ktaba d'ellat koll 'ellan (The Cause of All Causes), asserts the existence of three Pillars of Hercules, a notable variation from the classical tradition of two.

The specific passage describing the three pillars was first published in 1889.

The Syriac compendium of knowledge known as Ktaba d'ellat koll 'ellan (Cause of All Causes) is unusual in asserting that there were three, not two, columns.
